Monday 26th July 2010 - Harbinger - best horse in the world!
Harbinger (2006 Dansili ex Penang Pearl) won the Gr.1 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on Saturday, breaking the track record and leaving a top class field some 11 lengths behind in the widest winning margin in the race's history. The Racing Post have hailed him as 'the best horse in the world' giving him a rating of 135, establishing him as the best older horse since Sakhee. He was lovingly nick named '2-socks' at Kirtlington and was a favourite with our staff for his super temperament. Congratulations to his breeder Nick Ooi and all his connections. |

Dandino (2007 Dansili ex Generous Diana) ran gamely to win the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot yesterday, his fourth consecutive win from four starts this season. He was bred at Kirtlington Stud by his owner Elite Racing Club. He always stood out as the strongest foal his dam has produced and he certainly hasn't disappointed on the track. Thursday 3rd June 2010 - Sad farewell to Kirtlington favourite
Mazarine Blue passed away peacefully at Kirtlington Stud this morning and will be sadly missed. The daughter of Bellypha out of Maiden Pool was owned and bred by Mrs Mary Taylor and was trained by Micheal Jarvis. She was a high speed 5f winner at 3 before retiring to stud where she went on to produce seven winners from eight runners. Her progeny included the prolific miler, Listed winner and Gr.2 placed PUTRA PEKAN (Grand Lodge), the high-class Gr.2 winner SAPPHIRE RING (Marju) and the smart Listed winner BLUE ECHO (Kyllachy). Mazarine Blue has a yearling colt by Royal Applause, and her daughter Blue Echo is now a broodmare at Kirtlington for Mary and her son James. Blue Echo has a colt foal by Kheleyf, and an exceptional yearling colt by Royal Applause. |

Midas Touch (2007 Galileo ex Approach) won the Gr.2 Derby Trial at Leopardstown yesterday. Approach now resides at her owner's stud at Denford and has foaled a full brother to Midas Touch. She has been covered by Sea The Stars this season. Thursday 15th April 2010 - Blue Maiden 2nd in Gr.3
Blue Maiden (2007 Medicean ex Bluebelle) was a close 2nd in the Gr.3 Nell Gwyn Stakes at Newmarket yesterday. She had to pull wide to make her run, and apparently the ground didn't suit her. She is now aimed for the 1000 Guineas. Blue Maiden is out of our own mare Bluebelle and was unsold for 6,000gns at the 2008 October Part 3 Sale. She was then sold privately to Charlie McBride with Chris Budgett retaining a share. Bluebelle was uncovered in 2009 and visits Medicean again this season. |

Tuesday 2nd March 2010 - Hazel runner up in the Stud Staff Awards
Hazel was announced runner up at the Godolphin Stud & Stable Awards ceremony held at the Jumeirah Hotel in London yesterday. As we said before it was a very strong compettion and Hazel was one of the youngest in her category, it was a huge acheivement to have reached the final. Hazel thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and brought home some nice prizes for herself and the team at Kirtlington. We would like to thank Godolphin, the Racing Post and the British Horseracing Board for their sponsorship, support and organisation of such an important event.

Harlech Castle notched up his 3rd consecutive win recently at Southwell bringing his dam Ffestiniog back into the spotlight of the Racing Post. The article headed "Elite celebrate as Ffestiniog produces yet another winner", called her Elite Racing Club's star producer and not without reason. The Listed winning mare has produced seven winners from seven runners including Gr.3 winners Boston Lodge, Eisteddfod and Border Patrol. Belle Epoch (2006 Sadler's Wells ex Solaia) won nicely on her second outing at Toulouse this week. Her Gr.2 winning half sister Olaya has just had a colt by Bernadini in the USA. Her Listed winning dam Solaia is in foal to Montjeu and due to visit Dansili this year. |

Wednesday 28th January 2009 - Soviet Song's first foal!
Soviet Song foaled a bay colt by Oasis Dream early this morning, 28 January. She had waxed up for 24 hours giving us plenty of warning, and it was all very straightforward for a maiden mare. He is strong and a good size first foal. Soviet Song is very pleased with her new baby and has shown a strong mothering instinct. |

Monday 26th January 2009 - Bride Of The Sea has a filly
Bride Of The Sea (2004 Cape Cross ex Scarlet Lake) foaled a bay filly by Elusive City on Saturday evening. She wasn't too sure what to make of her first foal, but she has been a good mum. Her owner Mary Taylor has been involved with this successful family for several generations. |

Monday 26th January 2009 - Kirtlington Pinhook wins in Dubai
Presvis (2004 Sakhee ex Forest Fire) won the £50,000 Al Tayer Motors Trophy in Dubai last week. He was purchased by The Kirtlington Pinhook Syndicate as a foal for 15,000gns and sold as a yearling to Amanda Skiffington for 30,000gns. |
